In the spirit of Christmas celebration, the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State, Khamisu Ahmad Mailantarki has distributed food items worth millions of naira as gifts to Christians in churches in the state.
The items which include rice and vegetables were distributed to selected churches, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and other Christian groups in the state capital.
Distributing the items to the beneficiaries yesterday, Mailantarki said the gesture was aimed at ensuring that the Christian community in Gombe State marked the occasion with joy and happiness.
He rejoiced with the Christian faithful, urging them to celebrate moderately in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

He stated that the season offers a unique opportunity for Nigerians to renew their hope and faith in God to make life more meaningful.
He urged the Christians to draw lessons from the life and times of Jesus Christ who was an epitome of love, unity, sacrifice and peaceful coexistence, noting that no nation develops without peaceful coexistence and harmony.
Gombe State, he said, can be greater than the imagination of everybody if everyone plays a positive role.
Mailantarki enjoined the citizens to start by electing credible people which the New Nigerian Peoples Party has presented from the president, governors to national and state assembly members, saying that he is prepared to give good leadership if elected as governor of Gombe State in 2023.
Mailantarki said he has the requisite experience and leadership capacity to drive the state to the path of sustainable economic and socio-political development.
