Former Manchester United striker, Dimitar Berbatov, has warned his former club about the threat posed by four Fulham players, Willian, Dan James, Andrea Pereira and Bernd Leno, ahead of the teams’ clash in a Premier League tie on Sunday.
Berbatov also warned Manchester United not to underestimate Fulham at Craven Cottage this weekend.
According to him, Erik ten Hag’s side have a tough task on their hands because Fulham are doing well at the moment.
Man United travel down to London on Sunday evening for their final Premier League fixture before the English top-flight league comes to a halt for a month for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The Red Devils have the chance to end the first half of the season on a high, but it will be no easy task when they clash with Fulham, who currently sit ninth in the table.
However, Fulham will be without their top striker Alexsandar Mitrovic for the match against Man United due to injury.
“Obviously, [Aleksandar] Mitrovic is the main guy who’s scoring the goals,” Berbatov told Manchester United’s in-house media. “Willian, everyone knows that he’s a major player in the Premier League. Bernd Leno is in the goal, for sure.
“Andreas Pereira, we all know about him. Daniel James, as well, another ex-Red. So there is a quality in the team, and I’m not surprised, to be honest, that they are doing fine at the moment. But we all know the Premier League is a long journey, so they [Man United] need to be careful.
“From my time, I know that if you are not careful, if you underestimate Craven Cottage and Fulham, you are going to have a problem.
“Fulham is a good club. At the moment, I think they have great players, actually, and they are doing fine for the moment. I guess United are going to have a tough task on their hands, for sure.”
